Shepherd’s Green Sanctuary is not open to the public.
Our visitors will be one of the following:

1. All visitors or employees must have on file a signed liability release before working on the premises. Regulations and safety rules are posted and should be read fully before starting any activity.
2. To prevent the spread of disease, all visitors will be given disposable boots to wear while on the property. (Or shown how to sanitize by other means). Please do not exit your vehicle until someone has provided you with your “booties”. Sound your horn for attention.. You must repeat this sanitation when leaving.
3. All visitors are restricted to the farm utility or golf cart to be conveyed around the property. They may not interact with the pigs in the pastures at any time. Our liability insurance and legal council prohibit anyone for any reason other than medical treatment by our vets, to be on foot in the animal occupied fields. Enjoy the guided tour on wheels. You may visit with the yard pigs as well as some of the crippled and elder pigs.
4. No smoking on the grounds or in any buildings. Smoking is permitted only on the deck and all butts extinguished in the proper receptacles.
5. No alcohol permitted.
6. No food or gum or other edibles should be carried in your pockets.
7. Avoid the use of colognes, hair sprays, or other fragrance containing cosmetics as these disturb the animals and attract bee and wasp stings.

From Interstate 40 at Cookeville Tennessee you will take exit 288 and travel North on Rt 111.about 13 miles. You will pass the Welcome to Overton County sign, a saw mill and a Chevron station. Watch for Ragland and Riley Veterinary clinic on the right. It is a brick complex with green roofs. Once you pass the clinic take the next left. It will be Sulphur Road. Travel 2 miles on Sulphur road to Shiloh Methodist Church . Turn left at the church onto Hardy’s Chapel Road. Travel 3.5 miles to the end of Hardy’s Chapel . At the stop sign you will be in the tiny community of Hardy’s Chapel. Just to your right is Joe Allen Market. Turn right towards the market and then left just in front of it. This will put you on Poplar Springs Road. Travel a mile to Copeland Lane. It is a right hand turn. It is a gravel road and has a dead end sign. We are on the left. You will see the Shepherd’s Green sign.
alternate route is shorter but requires you travel through town
Exit I-40 at exit 287 and go north into Cookeville. About 1 mile into town you will arrive at the Square, the courthouse sitting in the center. Turn right before or after the square and go one block to Washington St which is also route 136. Turn left onto Washington St and proceed north for about 12 miles. When you reach the Hardy’s Chapel community, follow the directions above from Jo Allen’s store. (Left before the store onto Poplar Springs, then right on Copeland)
