Helping Hoof Program

The sanctuaries are bursting at the seams with unwanted pet pigs

The Helping Hoof Fund is designed to help pigs stay in the private sector by providing information, hands on assistance, low cost veterinary care and needed supplies.

This is the most important program we have and others are now following suit to assist pigs in other areas. Safe Harboar in Ky operates the Helping Hoof from their mid KY location and Pigs As Pets Association does so from Ft Meyers, FL.

We can now help through other sanctuaries/rescues in  Virginia (www.minipigs.org) ; South Carolina (Pigmama@gmail.com) and others. Email for more information on remote assistance.

We used to see only 3 to 5 year olds, who reaching maturity became territorial and unhappy in the confinements of the home. Now we see as many babies unwanted as adults, not a good sign. We have to get ahead of this tidal wave any way we can.

If you can contribute $5 a month,  $10 a month or more  to keep the fund growing, we can keep saving pigs lives by making their homes more suitable with fences and outdoor houses and spaying and neutering. . This is a great way for clubs to help by setting up a monthly contribution.

Every pig that is able to stay in a healthy happy home is one less the sanctuaries will have to take, so a pig found at the Animal Shelter, who has no options at all,  has a better chance of getting a home at a sanctuary.

Most of the millionaires in the world won't be helping any little pigs in rural Tennessee; its the cleaning lady in Utah (and the one I am privileged to know in England) who will squeeze out a dollar or two for the animals. Its just us regular folks who make it happen. For the cost of a fast food lunch or a magazine, you can buy a life for a needy pig. Read about some of the Helping Hoof Projects below.

We are slowly  getting our files completed and published on the  Helping Hoof Projects completed since we began. Links completed will show in orange.  Many have pictures.   Visit often to see new projects as they get posted. ( Note from Peg: We are so far behind now we will NEVER get caught up.. Each year we add dozens more projects.. spays, neuters, fences, feed, vet bills.. each one coming from the Helping Hoof donations you make.)

For 5$ a month you can make a miracle happen for a pig like Princess Madison who is safely in a pen with lots of shade and grass, spayed and free of worries and with a piggy companion to spend her days with.
