Hector and Helen

Abandoned in Tennessee along with another female pig (Crystal) these two needed homes in the worst way. The local animal control, unable to catch these pigs running wild on the farm, called me to go get them or they would shoot them. It was the 4th of July weekend and hotter than the hinges of Hades.. but my nephew and a friend went to fetch these youngsters.

Once there we found just how bad things were. Hector was so thin you could see through him. Helen had a broken back, probably had happened a month or more before and never had any treatment. Amazed that she cold walk at all it was with great concern that I loaded her into the horse trailer and brought her here, fearing that she would further damage herself.

Once here, neutered and healed Hector became a lovely round boy with an appetite that never slackens. Like many who didn't get enough to eat for a long time, they are always "Starved".

Helen has recovered to a remarkable degree and gets along just fine.
