2003 - Lightning and Miss Piggy
Fairview, TN
When you deal with pigs you find that there are so few homes that will give them what they need to be healthy and happy. Many people will adopt them (if it were allowed) and keep them in tiny dog pens and locked in a utility room, but its a rare find to locate a home that gives love and space.
I first encountered this family back in 1998 when they approached me to adopt a companion for their
piggy boy Wilbur and we found Louise to be a good companion for him. Over the interim time we became friends and when I
needed foster care or assistance in her area Vivi jumped in and helped. Over a few years she had adopted several more
pigs. When Lightning and Miss Piggy were suddenly abandoned
in her area she was quick to make arrangements to save them. But by now her piggy fenced areas had run out so we helped
out with some fencing and a sow hut for a "howdy" introduction pen. Once spayed and neutered these two pigs became part
and parcel of her piggy family.
In 2004 Vivi joined our board and later that year became our second Forever Foster Farm, for
unadoptable pigs who need some extra attention that they could not get here at the main sanctaury in such a large herd.

Above, Lightning is a fine handsome boy and Miss Piggy adores him.
